Dogs (and even cats, if you dare to douse them) can benefit from a good homemade bar of soap just as much as humans. Care should be taken so that pets are not exposed to fragrances (especially essential oils) that could be harmful to them, but I would personally prefer a good homemade bar of soap to clean and deodorize my dog, as opposed to the smelly shampoos that I have used in the past.
